Crooner Tiwa Savage' Music Track "Tiwa's Vibe" Has Been Banned

African Music Diva Tiwa Savage has expressed shock after her latest track, Tiwa’s Vibe was banned from being played on local stations because she said "Shayo", a Nigerian slang for Alcohol.

I guess they are trying to sanitise the airwaves but whats wrong with saying Shayo compared to the kind of big yansh and boobs one sees on the musical videos?..They should remove all cos most men cannot watch a Nigerian music video without 'standing up'..LOL

    4. Don't mind her, Stella. She didn't just say shayo. The song is a very sexual song. I couldn't listen half way through. She just projects sex in a lot of her songs and videos nowadays.

Nigerian parents have a lot of work to do. They need to protect their kids from listening to a lot of Nigerian music and watching/reading entertainment content in general. Before the content/music start to ignite their children's sexuality too young.

In a country where sexual abuse is rampant. And there are no strong laws or justice system. We condone these so called agbero singers to continue to emulate western style of content where their justice system is far better than Nigeria. They make anthems for abusers, fraudsters and whatnot. Those ones will get high on the music, because music is spiritual, and start to act out badly. Affecting other people's lives. In the West, with a good lawyer a parent can sue an abuser and win while their kid get therapy too. In Nigeria, they will need to be rich or influential to get justice that if they don't make the victim hide the situation so both families of victim and abuser won't be shamed/mocked. Then the victim suffers in silence without justice or therapy. And he/she too might go on to turn into an abuser or a broken person.

It is hard for parents in this age to work and raise kids. The incentives (TV, computers, games, etc) they bought to keep their kids occupied and engaged are no longer full of educational content but lewd, misleading and awful content. I used to be shocked when some people don't allow their kids to watch TV but now with the way the world is going, I understand. I won't stop my kids but I will have to be very vigilant and guide them through content they are allowed to watch/ read and give punishment for disobedience.

Anyway, parents protect your children/and your underage siblings. Educate your parents to also protect your underage siblings. Educate your grown up siblings to protect to their kids. Use parental control on the internet and TV. Report TV stations that promote or show non-children friendly content before 10pm or after 6am. Send your kids to bed by latest 9 pm and don't let them watch TV between 8pm-7am. Carefully select the channels they have access to. Spend time watching TV with them so you know if the content on the selected stations are still OK for your kids. Observe what they do online until they are at least 18 and mature enough to start taking full responsibility for their choices. They are after all the future of the society.

If we have more balanced and humane raised kids as adults now, just imagine how much different our society will be. But right now aside from economical hardship, we have too many broken people. Too many inhumane people.
