An English-based player dominates Marca’s splash but it is Tottenham's Christian Eriksen rather than David de Gea. The only mention of Gareth Bale is the fact that he posed in the new Real Madrid kits ahead of next season but Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t.

Marca does report that Real president Florentino Perez is more worried about Bale than Ronaldo: "The leaders of Real Madrid know that what the forward said after the final is not bluffing.

"The Welshman is a man of few words and what he said on Saturday is what he thinks and to the feeling of frustration he has felt in a good part of the season. His face and gestures throughout the celebration leave no room for doubt. He hardly participated in the party."

Bale has always been a favourite of Perez’s and it is interesting he is apparently more preoccupied with keeping him than Ronaldo. The key line is Bale 'is not bluffing'. Ronaldo bluffs every year whereas Bale’s comments were a remarkable departure from the usual rhetoric he adopts on his future.

United have opened talks with Porto over the potential signing of 19-year-old right-back Diogo Dalot. The Portugal Under-21 international has only made eight career appearances but has a €20million release clause and is out of contract next year.

Portuguese sports 'paper O Jogo adds: "According to FC Porto’s source, the blue and white club tried last season to renew the contract, but was faced with several postponements by Carlos Gonçalves, the player's agent." A Bola claims Dalot will be announced 'in the next few hours'.

United have struggled to settle on a more established right-back target, having fleetingly looked at Southampton's Portugal international Cedric Soares and Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin's representatives told the MEN United had enquired about his possible availability.

Former United winger Memphis Depay is wanted by both Milan clubs, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Some United fans would have the Lyon forward back at Old Trafford and United do have a buy-back clause.

"Because potentially he's a very good player," Mourinho said last year while discussing Depay's buy-back clause. "I think when Mr Van Gaal decided to buy him he did well, he knew him very well from the national team, he was very young when at the World Cup he had flashes of top quality."
