Metallic taste

Hello all! Just put two alien V2 coils in my smok RBA and I'm getting this awful taste of metallic with a little of my e liquid. It is disgusting xD. I've checked and fixed the hot spots so that's all good. I've wicked it like a mother fucker. Does the coil just need breaking in or is something seriously wrong here?

When you say you’ve wicked it like a mother fucker, what do you mean? You might have put too much cotton in, if I’m understanding the expression right. You shouldn’t wick like a mother fucker.

By that I meant that I've put shit loads of juice on the coils and cotton. The cotton seems fine. It's not cramped in there

What type of wire are you using....is it your normal wire... high wattage in some types of juice can also taste metallic..also metallic taste can linger from your last build.....even though you have fixed the hot spots....clean everything...rip it out n start again....try the same juice in another tank n build if you have one

All I know is that they are alien V2 coils, I got them off of vapeuk. Should I use new wire or stick with the same stuff?

try new wire...once you have cleaned everything...it maybe your experiencing a different taste from the wire(this is common).....I find this to be the case when using SS, then switching back to Kanthal, a small but noticeable metallic taste for a tiny wee while...but as its only a wee single coil (kanthal) it soon goes....or I get used to it again.

Okay great! Just searched them up and they are 'super kanthal'. So could my taste just be adjusting? All I used before hand was pre built coils like the smok tf v10
