Teenage Mutant Ninja Rip-Offs

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a staple of the comics scene anymore, spawning several dozen different comics, cartoons, and movies. The comics -- the original black and white ones by Eastman and Laird -- were indeed well done and something of a radical departure from mainstream comics at that time. (Although I believe both Eastman and Laird freely admitted to ripping off Frank Miller, Will Eisner, and a number of other great comic creators in their early days.)

The comic, at first, seemed like something of a fad, with the quirky drawings and an even quirkier name. So, not surprisingly, it also spawned a number of rip-offs, which took only the most superficial of elements with them. I thought I'd share some of the concepts...
And, yes, these are all REAL comic books.

In my mind there was one, (Something) (Something) Kung-Fu Budgies. Could that have been real? Was it maybe just a joke somebody made in my LCS at the time?

I did a quick check on the Grand Comics DB and couldn't find any titles with "Budgies" in the name, but it's entirely possible that it was used in an anthology book or something and wouldn't show up in a search like that. I'm not personally aware of anything along those lines, but given how many variations on the 'age-adjective hero-adjective warrior-adjective animal' concept were put out back in the day, it wouldn't at all surprise me to learn that Kung-Fu Budgies was a thing.
