THIS stunning wide view of Victoria Square, Portland, was taken by late Dorset Evening Echo photographer Harry Green.

This view is instantly recognisable and little changed from bygone days. Of interest are the advert hoardings for beer and Guinness and the number 22 double decker bus and old cars. The square was the site of the Portland Fair which many of you will remember going to as a child.

It is hard to spot in this photo, but there are some petrol pumps outside what is believed to be Aitcheson's Garage.

Our thanks go once again to Carole Dorran of the Facebook group Bygone Dorset for sharing Harry's lovely photos.
