Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Dawkins celebrated his 45th birthday on October 13th.

Any news related to Brian Dawkins is news that’s worth sharing. To be honest, we’ve been covering the Philadelphia Eagles for quite some time over here at ITI, and now, that we think about it, we’ve never heard a bad word said about this guy.

All of his NFL teammates love him, whether they played with him in Philadelphia or during the three seasons he spent with the Denver Broncos. They love him at his alma mater, Clemson.

Did you notice when he thanked the Tigers that the cameras panned over to Clemson’s head football coach, Dabo Swinney?

Yep, good ol’ Dabo made the trip all the way to Canton to watch ‘Dawk’ deliver his enshrinement speech.

Now, why on Earth do you think that is? We already told you. It’s almost impossible not to like this guy.

We don’t even have to ask if they love him in  his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, do we?

Yet another thank you to a legend…

During his 16-year career (13 of which were played in Philly), ‘Weapon X’, as he’s affectionately called, racked up 1,131 tackles, 26 sacks, 36 forced fumbles, 19 fumble recoveries and 37 picks from the free safety position. He even got in the end zone four times.

If you limit his contribution to statistics, you’ve missed the point though. ‘Weapon X’ is the total embodiment of what it means to be a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

To many, ‘Dawk’ is their favorite Eagle of all time. Take a look at this:

He gave it everything on every single play. He wore his heart on his sleeve. Eagles fans love him because he cared, and ‘Dawk’ loves them right back.

He’s a member of the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. He’s a member of the Eagles Hall of Fame. He’s a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Just in case you missed it, here’s one more look at his speech in Canton:

What else needs to be said? We, at ITI, wish ‘Weapon X’ the happiest of birthdays. Go party like a rock star Mr. Dawkins.
