The Cubs announced on Tuesday that first baseman Anthony Rizzo has been activated from the 10-day disabled list. He’s in Tuesday’s lineup against the Cardinals, batting third.

Rizzo, 28, landed on the disabled list last week, retroactive to April 6 with a lower back injury. In his first six games before suffering the injury, Rizzo hit a lackluster .107/.219/.214 with a home run and three RBI in 32 plate appearances.

Rizzo was expected to be activated yesterday, but the Cubs’ game was postponed, so he got an extra day of rest.

Victor Caratini and Ben Zobrist handled first base while Rizzo was out. Efren Navarro was optioned to Triple-A Iowa to create roster space for Rizzo.
