England launched a dramatic comeback in their netball semi-final against Jamaica, reaching a first-ever Commonwealth final with a last-second winner. They will face Australia in Sunday's gold-medal showpiece.

In a packed day of boxing finals, there were six more gold medals for England, including for Frazer Clarke in the super-heavyweight bout, while India, Australia and Wales also enjoyed victories.

Some remarkable home success came in the men's cycling road race as Australia's Steele Von Hoff claimed gold.

He won out in a sprint to the line to top the podium ahead of Welshman Jonathan Mould and South Africa's Clint Hendricks just seven weeks on from suffering a severe back injury.

Sports writer Reece Homfray highlighted just how impressive an achievement it was for the 30-year-old:

This was Steele von Hoff a month ago, riding a mountain bike for the first time in a neck brace after breaking four vertebrae. Today he became Commonwealth Games champion with gold in the road race. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen. https://t.co/TfgzHBsxqr

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey anchored England home in the men's 4x100, holding off South Africa's 100-metre champion Akani Simbine and Jamaica's Yohan Blake to seal gold.

It was then the turn of the women, and England were triumphant again as they won comfortably despite a brilliant late burst from Jamaica's Elaine Thompson in the inside lane.

The netball semi-final between England and Jamaica was about as dramatic as it comes, as Jo Harten netted to make it 56-55 with one second to go.

England had been six goals behind at half-time but now have the chance to play for the gold medal against Australia after the hosts hammered New Zealand 65-44 in Saturday's second semi-final.
