In leading the New Orleans Pelicans to a four-game sweep over the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs on Saturday, Anthony Davis set a franchise postseason record with 47 points.

Davis shot 15-of-24 from the field and 15-of-17 from the free-throw line as part of his record-setting performance.

The Pelicans defeated the Trail Blazers 131-123 on Saturday, securing their first playoff series win since the 2007-08 season.

Davis and Jrue Holiday each scored over 40 points in the victory.

Per SB Nation's Tim Cato, Davis and Holiday are the first pair of teammates to score at least 40 points in a playoff game since LeBron James and Kyrie Irving did it for the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver listed the various records and markers that Davis set with his masterful showing in Game 4:

Through all four games of the series, Davis averaged 33 points and 12 rebounds. The Brow has recorded seven straight double-doubles in the postseason dating back to 2015.

With the Pelicans making quick work of the Trail Blazers in the opening round, they will now await the winner of the Golden State Warriors-San Antonio Spurs series in the second round.
