In a previous thread I asked about DIY e liquids. I got a great response and some excellent advice. So this question is about DIY coil making.

I want to use fused Clapton wire to make two 0.30 coils (dual build of .15ohms). I went on steam to see how many wraps etc, unfortunately there was no fused Clapton wire in the categories available. How many wraps per coil would I need to make, in order to achieve my aim.

Also, when do you start the full wrap count from? Is it the first FULL turn, which would be classed as 1 wrap etc?

Thanks in advance.

You can't use the coil wrapping tool you need to use the wire wizard one and put in all the info on your fused Clapton like how many cores what gauge cores and wrap and you can work it out that way [emoji6]

Just use the inner core awg/mm. Use this in wire wizard. No need to use outer wrap as this has little impact on resistance. Personally I just make a coil, stick it in a deck on a regulated mod & add/remove wraps as required. You'll soon know roughly how many wraps you need as you build.
At a guess though your likely looking at 5/6 wraps for a 0.3ohm coil in SS, 4/5 in Ni80.
