Hi all,

First time posting so be gentle.

I'm hoping to get a bit of information as to whether it is possible to vape without nicotine. I'm an ex smoker and have recently completely quit but still find that my hands are always lost and miss the feeling of holding something. I'm thinking of trialling vaping to see how that works out.

Would anyone be able to offer me any advice on a starting kit (non nicotine) and any kit to look out for? If it helps I was told to look at either the Innokin EZ Watt or Innokin Proton Plex but any recommendations are very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the planet.

The simple answer is yes you can vape zero nic juice.
I think the second hardest thing to stop smoking was the hand to mouth movements which I don't think I will ever get over after 37 years of smoking. I've been vaping four years now and the best move I ever made. It is now more of a hobby but I still use 3mg in a lot of my juices but most of the fruits I use zero nic.

On phone at work now so can't post links buy check out my recommended list stuck at the top of the new users section. Post 5 has everything hardware and while you wait for others to recommend kits it's worth having a look through some of the hardware suppliers to see if there is anything you like the look off.

A few things you need to decide are this:

1. Do you want to Mouth to Lung (MTL) vape (like ciggies) or Direct to lung (DTL). This will narrow down the range of options.
2. How much do you want to spend on a mod/kit? This will narrow it down even further
3. All eliquid over 10ml is normally zero nicotine as this is a requirement of the Tobacco Products Directive. Most of us add nicotine shots to these.
4. A decent vape shop will let you try before you buy so you can see what mod feels right in the hand, performs well for you and which corresponds to your style. It will also help to you answer if you are a MTL or DTL vaper.
5. To ensure you don't get ripped off DO study @MrDJ recommended list as advised and have a browse of the review section.
6. Try not to buy Smok - you will learn this is not popular here!

Finally, are you sure you want to vape? If you have kicked the ciggies and the nicotine - and well done on that, great stuff - I would have a proper think about this point. Most of us get into vaping to give up ciggies or keep using nic without the other harmful effects of the ciggies.

Finally, finally, welcome to POTV, look forward to hearing about what you end up with and how you get on with it.
