Sydni Fullilove, a freshman at Morgan Park Academy from Matteson, earned a spot in the Ambassador Leaders summer program. Middle school math teacher Peggy Scolan nominated Fullilove for this honor due to her academic achievements and leadership skills.
“Sydni is a hard-working student who puts in the time and effort to do her best in all endeavors,” Scolan said. “Even when she’s moving out of her comfort zone, Sydni sets her eye on the goal and works to achieve it. Her compassion for others is evident and a better friend would be hard to find.”
Hosted on campuses of America’s top universities, Ambassador Leadership summits bring together motivated middle and high school students to develop leadership skills, get ready for college, and prepare for the opportunities and responsibilities they will face in today’s interconnected world. Students get to discover their strengths and expand their horizons while making friendships with peers from around the world.
With a choice of summits at UCLA, Harvard University, Yale University, and Johns Hopkins University, Fullilove chose to attend the John Hopkins University Medicine and Health Care Summit next summer.
Fullilove chose the Hopkins program because of her goal of becoming a veterinarian. She will learn hands-on suturing techniques from a surgeon, achieve certification in CPR and in identifying and treating life-threatening bleeding, and earn service hours.
