Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

We are seeing unbelievable deals from Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) to Shanghai (PVG), Bangkok (BKK), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Bali (DPS) in business class on Hong Kong Airlines, with prices starting at just $561 round-trip. Hong Kong Airlines flies its new Airbus A350 on the route, which features lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 formation. Business class fares on this route usually go for more than $3,000.

You can book through either Expedia or Hong Kong Airlines' website itself. This is likely an error fare, so you'll want to wait to book accommodation until your itinerary is ticketed. There are many cases where error fares like these are canceled, but sometimes airlines will honor them. TPG News Editor Emily McNutt was able to successfully purchase a ticket through Expedia.
