How to apply for NYSC relocation and redeployment

If you are considering NYSC redeployment to another state, here is the procedure you need to follow.

It can be more difficult if as a corps member you don't have a genuine reason for the redeployment you seek.

Although all corps members have the right to seek redeployment, before doing that, the NYSC expects you to have a concrete reason for considering a redeployment.

Here are five reasons that'll make the NYSC management consider corps members redeployment applications.

1. Health

Any corps member who has a recurring illness that required them to be closely monitored are allowed to apply for redeployment to any state where they can get medical attention. However, before you apply, you will need a medical report from your institution’s medical centre or from a recognized hospital.

2. Marriage

Seeking redeployment on a  marital ground most times apply to only female corps members who want to live with their husband.

Such corps members are expected to write an application letter stating why he/she wants to be relocated to another state of her choice.

Applying on a marital ground will require you to attach three documents to your letter, they are:

2. A valid marriage certificate

A document showing the change of name in any of the National Newspapers and Affidavit

A letter from your husband’s workplace which will serve as an evidence that your husband is domiciled in the state you want to relocate to

Note that the letter is expected to be addressed to the Director General of the NYSC through the State Coordinator.

3. Security

Corps members have the liberty to redeploy to another state if the states they are posted to are not safe for them.

1. Visit the [NYSC Official Website http://www.nysc.gov.ng/]

2. Sign in with your email and password (same as the ones you earlier used in registering on the portal)

3. Click on “Relocation”

4. Fill in your details appropriately into the fields provided

You will be notified afterwards through text messages and mails about developments on your application (whether it was approved or rejected). If approved, you'll have to print the relocation letter

How to Print the Online NYSC Relocation and Redeployment letter

1. Visit the Official NYSC Portal.

2. Log in with your email and password.

3. Click on Manage Relocation.

4. Make a payment of #1000 (one thousand Naira only) and wait for it to redirect you after successful payment

5. Print your payment receipt which will serve as your evidence of successful payment after printing your NYSC Relocation letter online.
