The tea plantation is a city within the city… with several ”villages” across the estate, ranging from 15 families to 45 families.
We saw a maternity ward, a crèche, a school, a church, a few temples….
While the women traditionally are the one harvesting the tea, the men harvest vegetables that they sell at the market (or small stalls along the roads).
