Bread Head Movie Review

Bread Head is a new documentary that promises to explore the effects that different foods have on our brains. Here’s our review of what the Bread Head movie is all about.

What is Bread Head?

Bread Head is an upcoming documentary created by Max Lugavere and Know Productions.

The documentary promises to explore the impact of our diets and lifestyles on brain health.

One of the big taglines for the documentary is this: “What if America’s most feared disease is a choice that we make at checkout?”

That “most feared disease” is Alzheimer’s. Max has a personal interest in fighting back against Alzheimer’s because his mom was recently diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease.

In Bread Head, Max explores the question of how we can reduce our risk of Alzheimer’s decades before we start showing symptoms – simply by changing the foods we eat.

Bread Head Crowdfunding Campaign on Kickstarter

The documentary was launched on Kickstarter in January 2015.

By February 18, Bread Head had raised $130,880 from 1,748 backers. Since January 2015, the Kickstarter page for Bread Head has posted 14 updates from production.

The last update was in October 30 and described how Max and his team just wrapped another day of shooting in Berlin.

Other updates have shown Max and his team interviewing doctors from around the world.

What is Bread Head About?

So what exactly is the point of Bread Head? Which foods should you eat or avoid eating to adjust your risk of developing Alzheimer’s?

As you’ve probably guessed from the name, a lot of the film deals with the impact that bread has on our brain health. Specifically, it explains how gluten may raise or lower our risk for dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other neurodegenerative conditions.

Here are some of the topics covered across the course of Bread Head:

— The role that gluten plays in our health

— The gut-brain axis and “microbiome” that plays a key role in the health of our body

— How to minimize your risk of dementia by eliminating risk factors starting today

— How to control your gene expression even if you have a history of Alzheimer’s in your family

— How a common supermarket food may provide an alternate fuel source for ailing brain cells

— How to protect and grow new brain cells at any age while optimizing memory and cognition

— How to utilize a “newly discovered self cleaning mechanism” in your brain

— Interviews with board-certified neurologists who are using a drug-free approach to treat neurodegenerative conditions “and seeing stunning results”

— Where the future of neurodegenerative therapy may lead 5, 10, or 20 years down the road

About Max Lugavere

Max’s Kickstarter biography claims he is a “multi-hyphenate content creator, filmmaker and media personality.” The 32 year old has appeared on a number of media outlets over the last few years talking about brain health and reducing your risk of Alzheimer’s.

One of the Kickstarter benefits is receiving an exclusive copy of Max’s debut single, which was released several years ago. So he also appears to have a musical background in addition to a filmmaking background.

About Know Productions

Know Productions is the film production company behind Bread Head movie.

The company is based in New York and Tel Aviv and has produced “a variety of feature films, television shows, and commercials” that have garnered critical acclaim over the years, according to the Kickstarter description.

Some of the major productions from the company include To Die in Jerusalem, After the Storm, Numbered, Dancing in Jaffa, and The Go Go Boys.

Bread Head Release Date

As of December 2015, Bread Head was still actively shooting material for the documentary, and we have no information about when the film will be released or what their upcoming filming schedule might look like.

We’ll keep you posted when we know more information about the Bread Head release date, although it’s expected to be released sometime in 2016.
