While that C-Class Shooting Brake rendering we saw a few months ago didn’t do particularly well in terms of likability, a lower, wider and more aggressive AMG version might just turn some heads.

The two most popular Shooting Brakes, namely the CLS and the CLA, already feature the three-pointed star, but this AMG C63s has more of a Ferrari FF vibe to it.

In doing so, it stays true to the original “Shooting Brake” form, which is that of a two-door sports car with an elongated roof and a hatch, not the stylish estate that the likes of Merc and Jaguar have “hijacked”.

And therein lies the wow factor. In terms of real-world performance, the C63s Coupe for example is capable of hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds thanks to its glorious 510 PS V8 engine. Who wouldn’t want that type of speed but with more practicality?

This means that the only thing Mercedes would need to figure out with a car like this (hypothetically) would be how get that rear end to look sporty rather than forced.

Sure, they probably won’t roll out a production version any time soon. If they did consider it, though, we’d say it is a case of “if you build it, they will come” – generally true with Mercedes-Benz models anyways, but with a more exclusive twist.
