When looking to schedule something on the go, VW’s Car-Net App-Connect allows you to access certain smartphone apps directly from your dash.

We have to hand it to V-Dub for calling on a couple of Hollywood actors in order to get their message across. The video starts off with Michael Pena (End of Watch, Fury, Ant-Man) calling up his friend Adam Scott (Parks & Rec, Friends with Kids) and asking him about a party that apparently he wasn’t invited to.

As Scott tries to convince him that there’s no party, Pena gets a call of his own from fellow actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad, Kick-Ass) which blows the lid off the whole thing.

Of course, none of these interactions would have been so fluid (as VW would have you believe), if these guys wouldn’t have been driving a bunch of Volkswagens with direct access to the Internet.

As for actual cars, the only model we do get a somewhat close look at is a Tornado Red Jetta in GLI trim, which apparently is driven by Pena, who then decides to have a party of his own and asks his car to find him the nearest party store.

Could VW have gotten the same message across if they had went with let’s say…less famous actors? Sure, probably. But with commercials such as this, attracting the viewer’s attention is just as important as anything else.
