According to this review by CarBuyer, the new Mercedes GLE Coupe is nearly as practical as its regular GLE brother. Yes, you lose some load volume in the rear, although the storage compartmentation in the back is the same and space for rear passengers is nearly identical.

Where it loses out is in the ride comfort department, where this tester says it’s beaten hands down by a Range Rover Sport, even if they’re not exactly rivals.

It’s also not as good in the corners as its main rival and inspiration, the BMW X6, nor is it as good on fuel. The review suggests it achieves notably less than what it says on the sticker, even in the frugal 350d configuration.

However, if you want an X6 from Mercedes, it’s really your only option until the X4 from Mercedes comes out, the GLC Coupe, which will basically be a shrunken (and more agile) version of the GLE Coupe. It’s due in 2016.
