Amazon brings Kindle Unlimited to the UK, an all-you-can-eat book subscription service for £7.99 a month

Amazon brings Kindle Unlimited to the UK, an all-you-can-eat book subscription service for £7.99 a month

Two months after Amazon launched its e-book subscription service in the US, the internet giant has quietly introduced the offering to UK readers too.

As spotted by Engadget, Kindle Unlimited is now available in Britain, with 650,000 e-books and “thousands” of audiobooks up for grabs each month. Following a 30-day free trial, the subscription will set you back £7.99 per month, and is available via Kindle e-readers, as well as its apps on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, PC, Mac and Windows 8.

It’s worth noting here that you’ll probably not be able to access all the latest bestsellers through Kindle Unlimited. It’s reported that a large percentage of the titles available on the service consist of self-published books via Kindle Direct Publishing, so the 650,000 figure might not tell the true story.
