PNP spokesman Sindac reassigned as logistics head

Outgoing Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesman Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac will be reassigned as head of logistics, a report from GMA's “News TV Live” program said Saturday.

According to Sindac, the reassignment is a simple career move and shouldn't be taken differently amid the controversy PNP Chief Director General Alan Purisima is facing.

In a text message to GMA News Online, Sindac said he will be handling a command position with the Logistics Support Service (LSS).

“[I will be assigned] as Director [of the] LSS. I will be the head of this unit,” he said.

He added that P/Sr. Supt. Wilben Mayor will become the new spokesman for the PNP.

Sindac was assigned as the PNP's Public Information Office (PIO) Chief in June, 2013.

During his designation as PIO head, he implemented the use of social media among the police force as a platform for public and media relations.

Prior to being the PNP's spokesman, he served as Deputy Director for Operations in the PNP's Highway Patrol Group—among various other key positions in the regional police offices.

Sindac is also a member of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1984. — VC, GMA News
