GamingLives' Ed muses over his love of Telltale Games and how, in his opinion, The Wolf Among Us falls short of their other recent series.
"As it stands, The Wolf Among Us was ultimately kind of disappointing. While by no means bad, it certainly lacked the same innovation, intrigue and tension that made the first season of The Walking Dead such a compelling and memorable experience. It could feasibly have built on the formula, but instead chose to make a series that predicated itself on a story that ended up lacking where it counted. Where The Walking Dead became a trendsetter, The Wolf Among Us just followed the pack."
Games have enormous untapped potential to tell new and compelling stories through interactivity. You won’t be stuck in a long, drawn-out cutscene in these games. These stories are told through player interaction.
Let me know when Tales from the Borderlands Season 2 comes out. Till then, meh.
Following the announcement of The Wolf Among Us 2, Epic Games is offering the first game for free. From today and until December 19th, PC gamers can visit the game’s EGS page and acquire their free copy.
Paul writes: "Telltale Games has a strong history of taking inspiration from graphic novels, with perhaps the most famous being their The Walking Dead series. However, back in 2014, they looked at another writer’s work, a gentleman by the name of Bill Willingham and his Fables series, creating The Wolf Among Us in the process."
This was honestly my least liked TellTale game post TWD, the first 2 episodes were amazing but the last 3 all very disappointing.
