Brand New Ys Game Announced For PS4, Vita

A new Ys game is coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Word comes by way of Sony's pre-TGS press conference, held today in Japan. A trailer was shown for the game, and it looked a great deal like Ys does, though with prettier, HD graphics.

Little else is known about the game, including what its actual name and/or sub-title will be, and whether it will be released as an entry in the core series (it was revealed simply as "Ys"). The series, which began in 1987, saw its most recent release in the west in 2013, when Ys: Memories of Celceta came to PlayStation Vita. We liked it quite a bit. However, Ys is split into two groups as a series: the core franchise and various spin-offs. Celceta was considered a core game; perhaps this one will be, too.
