Kellie Pickler To Release Pink Vinyl For Breast Cancer Awareness

Kellie Pickler will release her latest album, The Woman I Am, on pink vinyl on September 30, with the proceeds going to Gilda's House, a community-centered home for the cancer stricken that was started in memory of comedian Gilda Radner.

"Breast cancer really hit close to home for me when my 'big sis,' Summer, was diagnosed at such an early age," Pickler says of her ongoing involvement with cancer charities.

"I'm happy to say she is now cancer-free. But, so many other women continue to have to fight this disease, and even more may not know they need to be aware of earlier detection than previously thought . . . I want to help raise awareness so we can find a cure."

After Radner died in 1989, her husband Gene Wilder started the Gilda's Club movement.

In June, 1995 GCNYC opened its signature red door - Gilda's legacy to everyone living with cancer. Since opening, it has offered a place where men, women and children living with cancer - and their families and friends - can join together to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.
