FAQ

What time do pre-orders start on Friday?
Pre-orders will most likely start at 8:01am BST.

Is there a limit to how many iPhones I can order?
Apple typically imposes a limit of ordering 2 iPhones per Apple ID.

Will my order be delivered on the 19th if I pre-order?
If your email conformation says 'Delivery: 19/9 in most areas', please refer to this shipping page to see when your order will be delivered. The vast majority of the UK will receive it on the 19th.
Orders placed after models have sold out for the initial wave will be delivered in the time specified when ordering from the store.

Will my order be delayed if I order a case/Apple Care with the iPhone?
In the past, people have experienced delays in receiving their orders if they order any accessories along with the phone. It is recommended that you order the iPhone separate to any accessories to avoid the potential delay.

Should I pre-order from the desktop store, or mobile app?
Typically the app is more stable when pre-orders first start, compared to the desktop store.

Once I pre-ordered, Apple placed a hold on the funds in my account but released it a few days later without taking the money. Is there something wrong with my order?
When you pre-order from Apple and pay by Credit Card, Apple will place a "hold" on the amount with your card company. This checks you've got the funds, and stops you spending them. However, a hold only lasts a few days, after which time your card company will automatically make the funds available to you to spend again. When you see this happen, it is nothing to worry about, it DOES NOT mean Apple has cancelled your order. Apple will not take the money out of your account until the day of shipping. (credit: NightFox)

What courier will my order be delivered by?
Apple typically dispatches orders with UPS and Syncreon.

My order has been shipped with UPS, how can I track it?
On your order page there will be a tracking number starting with ‘1Z’, simply copy and paste it into the tracking box on the UPS website and it should display your tracking results. Please note that tracking numbers may take some time to become active.

My order has been shipped with Syncreon, how can I track it?
Enter your 'Delivery Number' in the 'Order No/Delivery No' box on the Syncreon tracking page, and your Apple order number (starts with W) in the ‘Web Order No’ box. If your tracking number starts with '309' you will then be able to track it to delivery on the UK Mail Tracking Page. Please note that tracking numbers may take some time to become active.

Is there a link back to last years UK thread for the iPhone 5s and 5c?
Yes, you can find that thread here.

I do hope they do pre-orders as well due to currently using the 3GS having sold the 4S.

I'm eligible for an upgrade with Vodafone if the deal is suitable otherwise I'll be shopping around.

I really hope they will do pre-orders this year too. I do sometimes q at the Apple store like I did last year. This year that might be really difficult to do with work and how I need to travel at the moment on Fridays.

I remember when I got my iPhone 5 (upgraded again from the the 4), O2 were a shambles so called Phones4U and they upgraded me over the phone! Lets hope O2 don;t mess up this time around....!!!

I take it you can only pre-order if you're buying out right? Or can you get it on contract too?

They usually do carrier pre orders as well which usually start at the same time as Apple start theirs

I pre-ordered my iPhone5 in the local Three store for collection on contract on release day. I'm hoping there is something similar for this one.

I'll be looking to buy outright. But I've delayed selling my iPhone 5, normally I would have sold my existing phone a week or two before the announcement.

One things for sure, I will not be queuing outside a store for it.

I've been hanging on for today's announcement since April to upgrade my galaxy S3 on Three but still unsure if I'm going to return to apple as all the rumors point to the 5.5 being huge with it retaining those large bezels, here's hoping that the 5.5 is indeed revealed today and it's the dogs danglers as nothing else in the market hits the spot for me and I really want to be back on IOS.

I'll be buying from the Apple Store.
I've been using O2's Simplicity plan for the last few years, so nearer the time I'll upgrade my Simplicity tariff (as I'm still on one with only 3G data).

My business contract is up in a few weeks with T-Mobile. I never moved to EE as I don't need the extra bandwidth to be honest, 3G is pretty quick and enough for phone use and hotspot for iPad/MacBook use for what we use them for.

I may wait a month or so until I order my replacement handsets for my staff, let the buying frenzy calm down a little :)

Is there anything to Tim Cook favoriting on Twitter a tweet saying:

Given there's a 0% chance we're note going to buy whatever Apple announces in 2 weeks, they should already let us pre-order at this stage

Curious to see - pre=ordering let's them sell out the whole first wave, let them gauge interest, and get cracking with the next shipment

Current iPhone 5S 64GB is £609.
Expecting +£100 for 128GB and +£100 for the 5.5"

So ~£800 for iPhone 6 5.5" 128GB.

I think they'll drop the prices for the memory bumps. It's something that they always get criticized for and would be a good selling point now they have bigger competition.

Doubt it. The criticism has always been there and yet they never have.

You're £100s off. It's 709, not 609.

Quite correct, then looking at £900. Ouch.

Glad theres a UK thread :) I'm hoping there will be pre-orders, and also that the 5.5" will be announced along side the 4.7" as for pricing i'm not 100% how much its going to be, however i have set aside £900 for if i decide on the 5.5" i just hope its not going to cost more than that, with current rumours suggesting that the maxed out 5.5" could cost around $1000

True, maybe they cut the starting price point down for the 4.7 inch so that the 5.5 isn't quite as expensive. The 5.5 will be the direct competitor to the Galaxy 5S, fingers crossed.
I personally will be buying the 4.7, not into really big screens/form factors to be honest.

I guess they will keep the 5C going as the cheaper entry phone though, maybe a price but slightly on these?

Will be ordering from Apple Store the moment they are available. If pre-orders then I'll stick with that; if not I'll keep my order with Apple, try to get hold of one at CPW (did it last year with my 64GB 5s) and cancel my Apple order if successful.

Looking for a 64/128 GB 4.7" model, either black or white. The higher up capacities usually are in better stock. Last year in CPW they charged a premium of about £70 for any model except for the 64GB to start with.

Have about £800 set aside
