    This is the first time I have ever used this way of watching videos - it will not be the last. I knew nothing about it before and it was pure Providence that it I came across it yesterday while searching for something else entirely. Before that I was resigned to waiting the best part of a year for the DVD box set. It really is perfect for those who want to avoid the hassle of cable/satellite subscriptions but do not want to spend months dodging spoilers before seeing popular shows or films. Note, however, that there do not seem to be subtitles on this version, and, of course, you will still need to wait for the DVDs if you want their very entertaining commentaries. As for the content, Game of Thrones is one of those things you love or you hate - to coin a phrase, `there is no middle ground.' If you are into fantasy, sex and violence, and realpolitik, or at least any two of those three, you are in danger of addiction, if not addicted already. Everyone else is advised to steer clear: this is not for the easily offended or the emotionally fragile. Season Four gets off to a slow start, almost gentle by GoT standards, but stay with it because the last episodes deliver a series of hammer blows to the stomach. Martin and the other writers build to a dramatic conclusion that seems predestined - and then do the opposite. Like rugby backs of the Golden Era, they change direction completely in a moment after selling us a perfect dummy - and they do it again and again. The plot twists come thick and fast like a blizzard North of the Wall. Not all are satisfactory, but they leave us desperate to know what happens next. It is as if the producers were worried that, even after last year's notorious `Red Wedding,' the characters and relationships were getting too cute and Disneyfied. No danger of that now.

    Game of Thrones is one of the best TV shows in history, and this specific season is it's best yet. So many mind blowing episodes and game changing event- more than ever before. The writing is great as always, the story is great and there are some episodes there that will be remembered years from now ("The Children", " The Watchers on the Wall", "The Lion and the Rose", "The Laws of God's and Men").
    About the product itself- perfection. Seriously. HBO know how to do the best Blu Ray boxsets, especially when it comes to Game of Thrones. The cover art is marvelous, looks very good on a display and also it's embossed in some places in a very col way. Inside you have this cool "Valar Morghulis" thing and in the back the classic Iron Throne small drawing. The digipack itself is very nice, with great character posters (the best ones yet) and also they were able to make the thing with less disc than before (4 discs instead of 5 like in the previous season). The only complaint I have with this product is that with the previous seasons we always got a nice extra with the episode guide (family tree, drawin of Iron Throne, map of Westeros and Essos), and here- nothing.
    The Bonus disc is great, comes in a very nice package outside the boxset itself and it contains some nice special features.
    If you love GoT then its a no-brainer, you must buy this. If you are just a BluRay collector- i'm telling you, it's a very nice thing to have.

    Without any doubt this is the most successful TV series ever, every episode in all 4 season's has left me wanting more and at the edge of my seat, If your one of the very few that have not seen this your definitley missing out , yes theres nudity yes there's foul and crewd language in places but the twists and turns in the story lines greed lust love power its all in there and its an amzing journey that draws you in !
    Now i have all the season's on Blu ray from the UK and the States and i have 1 negative ( shock horroR i hear you cry lol ) now this has nothing to do with this season as its amazing but with the packaging of the blu ray, its not as lavish as the other 3, this one feels and looks cheaper, It's a shame they have done this , im not sure if it has been done to keep costs down but i would have gladly paid more if there was an option, it will be interesting to see if the US one is any differant when i recieve it in the post.

    I have read all the books and this adaptation does not disappoint at all. Season 4 has all the lead characters suffering more so than Theon Greyjoy/Reek it is as painful to wathc his decline as it was to read about it. Arya becomes stronger and more vengeful under the control of the hand. We finally meet his brother the Mountain and his name is apt. Also there be Giants in this one and they be scary! Tyrion Lanister is betrayed again and again and your heart goes out to one of the most intelligent and human of all the characters. His father Tywin is again a Bastard to everyone and Jamie Lanister becomes more human and likeable their sister however becomes if it is at all possible to do so an even more vengeful, spiteful,horrid,ugly and bitter woman. Jon Snow and Sam have a huge battle to face and Sam falls in love at the same time. Sansa finds out what Little Finger is ploting finally. The Dragons become bigger and their mother has to take a very sad decision. All in all a bumper feast of tales to follow. Enjoy

    I started watching GOT's relatively late in the series....literally right after Season 7 started. I have heard so many great things about the series and finally had the time to start watching it, so I have literally been binge watching the entire show (starting from the very first episode) for about 2 weeks now. Now I know what everyone has been going on about for the past several years and cant believe that I haven't jumped on the GOT's bandwagon earlier. This show is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! I am not one for stories with elements of fantasy in them, but the story line and the characters in this series are so realistic and relatable, I am not even bothered with a fantastical themes that are woven throughout the story, as GOT's has enough murder, mayhem, incest, rape, pillage, carnage, lies, deceit, blood and gore to last a lifetime.....and so far, in my opinion, Season 4 has been the best yet.

La versione arrivata è nel formato compatto, (slep case) una custodia di cartone che all' interno contiene la custodia in plastica con i 4 dischi blu ray. Questo tipo di confezione è quella più recente (vedere foto) e non il classico cofanetto con le illustrazioni. A mio avviso la considero migliore in praticità occupa meno spazio sulla mensola ed i dischi si prendono e cambiano più velocemente, costa sicuramente molto meno, ma a discapito della confezione in cofanetto più curata, ma meno pratica. La serie inutile dire che è stupenda ed un vero must per gli amanti del genere! Se li collezionate è d' obbligo d' avere!

    Mi dispiace dare 2 stelle solo per la confezione danneggiata, queste cose mi fanno veramente arrabbiare anche perchè collezzionandoli nn mi piace che sia rovinata... lo renderò immediatamente per un altro... le 5 stelle "virtuali " vanno ad amazon per la puntualità e per la serie che è spettacolare... p.s.     I just recently finished watching Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 after ordering them all off of Amazon.

    As such, and considering the fantastic reviews already published for your consideration of what is clearly the best show on television at present, I would instead very much like to point out some bits and caveats for anyone unfortunate enough to read my drivel, yet, may still find any of it useful:

    - If you haven't watched GoT but are seriously considering doing so, you should know that it's filled with enough nudity to make Larry Flint blush - countless scenes are full frontal shots of various men and women.

    - Realistic depictions or not, the show is very gory and gruesome in my opinion.

    - There's also a ton of cussing, swearing, etc.

    - I would rate it a very hard 'R' (if not 'NC-17') due to this.

    - Prepare yourself to expect the unexpected, such as beloved characters considered central to the main narrative dropping dead in a fickle manner. So if you become emotionally attached to anyone, I'd seriously advise against holding your breath that they survive longer than those you hate.

    - Be sure to watch the Bloopers afterwards if you're feeling down after watching episodes depicting events such as the infamous 'Red Wedding' from a previous Season. I found it helped me to move on for some reason after watching quite a few people I was rooting for die very painful deaths.

    - Do yourself a favor and try to find / buy the Blu-ray + DVD Combos of Seasons 1, 2 and 3, as they include vouchers for free 1080p digital copies of each episode downloadable via iTunes. Plus, the "Play with In-Episode Guide" feature exclusive to the Blu-ray version will help you to not become lost with respect to character names, places, etc.

    - I feel like HBO got a little greedy with Season 4 because it was released with no DVD version included with the Blu-rays, plus, there's now only 4 Blu-rays instead of 5 (hence a lower AVC bitrate and overall video quality). As such, Season 4 is only available solely on 4 Blu-rays + Digital HD but no DVDs, but then again, it's better than nothing.

    - Have fun watching, and let's hope for the best of this show's future, and that it doesn't manage to implode, good day :-)
