Summary
After subduing the Jotunn king and claiming the Casket of Ancient Winters, Odin found one last treasure. A Jotunn infant, abandoned in a temple to die. Sympathy and a hint of compassion moved him to take the child, a natural shapeshifter, back to Asgard as his own.
He made plans for the boy. Political plans that would benefit Asgard and Jotunheim. But a good father would eventually set those plans aside and focus on what was best for his son.
Unfortunately, Odin had always been a better king than he was a father. And as Loki grew, he never forgot his purpose for the child. It was what was best for Asgard. Even if the boy would have to repeatedly pay the price.

Loki and Thor have a sister who is the light of both their lives and who is so loveable that she has been chosen to take the throne, a major step in overcoming Asgardian birthright laws. Loki and Thor's sister has a boyfriend, a member of the einherjar who enjoys poems and reading far more than he enjoys fighting. Then there is Leah, the handmaiden to the future queen who would much rather be listening to 90's punk bands than dealing with Loki especially, even though the two of them have far more in common than they realize. How much and how little do things change when a daughter is born? It is the early 1990s, meaning Blockbuster is thriving, Target is still neon, and Midgardian consumerism is viewed with awe by these teenage Asgardians.
General Info: this fic runs the span of years and ends just around the prelude to the first Avengers movie; Loki, Leah, and Thor are just entering formal adulthood while Gwen and Atlas are on the cusp of it; it is a coming of age if anything
