Matt Petronzio

Matt Petronzio was the Social Good Editor at Mashable, where he led coverage surrounding social impact, activism, identities, and world-changing innovation. He was based at the New York City headquarters from January 2012 to April 2018, and previously worked as the assistant features editor.

Matt has spoken about digital media and social good at a number of events, including the United Nations Summer Academy, Social Good Summit, +SocialGood UK, Media for Social Impact Summit, SXSW Eco, and Earth to Paris. He's served on the Leadership Council of the Classy Awards for social innovation and as a judge for Tom’s of Maine’s 50 States for Good initiative. Muck Rack highlighted him as a standout journalist writing on social change, and CauseVox called him "a journalist you simply cannot miss." Under his leadership, Mashable Social Good was a two-time Shorty Social Good Award finalist for Best in News & Media.

Particularly interested in social justice and human rights, Matt also moonlights as a poet, and holds an MFA in poetry from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
