Aurora Borealis

I framed the scene and waited for four hours for the aurora to show up exactly where I wanted it. It did.

Red aurora. Rarely seen.

I waited for two hours for the aurora, framing this mountain but from another location. Nothing happened. I gave up. After driving for awhile the sky exploded. I drove until the aurora matched up with the mountain. I stopped in the middle of the road (this was in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night) and shot the image.

(hmm the last one turned out a bit fuzzy. I look into it)

Great photos!
I have seen only once green northern lights and it was really amazing.
I wish to see those red ones someday...

They are amazing images - I'm really jealous - I went to Iceland in January hoping to see the Aurora and it was cloudy for my entire trip!

Never seen it yet!
