Summary
AU. Dean has been taking care of her brother, for the majority of her sixteen years of life. That's her job, her sole purpose. She has been taking care of her abusive, drunkard of a father for almost as long. She dropped out of school, lied about her age, and got a job at a local diner, to put food on the table, and to keep a roof over their heads.
Meeting a blue eyed boy that was the single most attractive human that she had ever laid eyes on, wasn't something that she could afford to do, not with how drawn to him she seems to be.
In typical John Winchester fashion, her father destroys the fragile stability that Dean has fought tooth and nail to keep and provide for herself and Sam. Her father sells her to Alastair, to forgive his debts. If she doesn't comply, Sam will pay the price. That's something that she can't afford to happen.
Can she survive this? Can she find a way to get Sam to safety? Will falling in love be her downfall?

Castiel spins his head around to locate the source of the yell. He has been a flight attendant for going on six years now, but he has never, in all his days, seen such a comically tall man trying to sit in the seat of an airplane. More accurately, trying to get out of one, as he comes bounding over to Castiel, exasperated at best. The man schools his features before turning a bit more sheepish and embarrassed, a fascinatingly quick change of expression as he reads Castiel’s nametag.

Castiel Novak didn’t know his life could hit lower than sleeping in the stockroom of the Gas-N-Sip until he's mugged one night after closing. He comes too in a laundromat, dazed and injured, in front of a worried, handsome stranger.
Dean “Cowboy Chaser” Winchester is a storm chaser known for having the best footage of the tornadoes that descend upon Tornado Alley, in the heart of the Mid-West, every spring. He's built a tank--The Imp--from a 1967 Chevy to ride into the storms. His brother is normally his chase partner, but Sam is on bed rest and Dean needs help. He can’t survive and make a profit on his own. Things aren’t looking well until an injured man stumbles into the laundromat.
After some stitches, sandwiches, and stain remover, Dean offers to hire Castiel as his assistant for the storm season. It’s more than he’ll ever make at the gas station.
