[Luke Siuty, IGM] Silent Hill, F.E.A.R, BioShock, The Witcher – what do those games have anything to do with the indie scene? The games themselves, perhaps little, but the all-star developers behind those titles are coming together for a project under the studio banner of Rosebud Games. Death in Candlewood is their take on 1940′s America, spun in a sinister open-world FPS.
The story spans a single night in Ray Dune’s life, the protagonist. Psychiatrist Lester Caravan goes bonkers, leaving Caravan’s adopted, handicapped son unsafe. It’s up to Dune to resolve the mess the madman created – “a love story between the living and the dead.” Corpses rise from their graves, and, needless to say, they are unfriendly.
VRFocus - Last year saw indie developer Rosebud Games launch a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for an ambitious new videogame named Death in Candlewood. Sadly, the title failed to achieve funding, despite the promise of virtual reality (VR) support with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). A few months later the team revealed that it was now working on a tie-in to this horror experience. That tie-in has now been revealed as House of Caravan, set to launch this spring with a VR compatible version following on afterwards.
VRFocus - Earlier in the year indie developer Rosebud Games failed to achieve funding for an ambitious new first-person shooter (FPS) named Death in Candlewood, which included a stretch goal for support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). Since that campaign’s failure the developer has remained silent. Now it has revealed that it is currently developing a new first-person title, while will be available before the year is out.

Oh... not that rosebud? My bad.
VRFocus - Rosebud Games’ horror-based first-person shooter (FPS) Death in Candlewood has passed its Steam Greenlight campaign. This means that the experience will now be sold on Valve’s digital store come its eventual full release. The title was Greenlit in just less than a month, having been posted on 24th April 2014. The developer is yet to comment on the success of the campaign following the title’s failure to achieve Kickstarter funding.
