Nokia Lumia 930 leaks out: a Lumia Icon look-alike

The Nokia Lumia 930 has just leaked out, mere hours before today’s Nokia event, and it looks almost exactly like the earlier released Lumia Icon. The Icon launched as an exclusive handset for Verizon Wireless in the United States, and it was not available for purchase globally. The Lumia 930, as a nearly identical-looking copy, is likely to change that, as expectations are that it will see a much wider availability.

Right now, we have what looks like the official press image leak out from well-known and reliable @evleaks. The image depicts a Lumia 930 with a boxy design (like the one that the Icon features) and coming in at least four color options - green, red, white and black.

The Lumia 930 also apparently features a 20-megapixel PureView camera with a ZEISS lens and dual-LED flash. We were pleased with the camera performance of the Lumia Icon, and we expect the same photographic excellence from the 930.

To freshen up your minds about the Lumia Icon (that the 930 could be a nearly identical copy of), we ought to say that it is a device with a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 system chip and 2GB of RAM. We expect similar specs in this forthcoming Lumia 930.

You’d need to wait a few more hours, though, for the official announcement - we’ll also be reporting live from the event, so stay tuned.
