Two charged following fight at Chuck E. Cheese's

Observer-Dispatch

Two men were arrested Saturday after an argument at Chuck E. Cheese's escalated into a fight in which a police officer was allegedly assaulted.

Cory J. Meulengracht, 24, of Utica was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment, resisting arrest, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration after New Hartford police said he punched an officer in the face who was investigating an altercation between Meulengracht and Duane L. Damphier.

Police were called to the Commercial Drive establishment after staff members broke up a fight between Meulengracht and Damphier, 46, of New York Mills.

Police said Meulengracht attacked the officer during the investigation, and then resisted attempts to arrest him before being taken into custody.

Meulengracht was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and taken to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail or bond.

Damphier was charged with disorderly conduct and was released to appear in town court at a later date.

The police officer who was allegedly assaulted was uninjured.
