It has been forty-eight hours since the Resonance Cascade.
The Black Mesa Research Facility is scarred beyond recognition. What had once been the largest single scientific institution in the world has been turned into a battleground, where humanity is fighting against both itself and the invaders from another world. The facility's staff have been nearly wiped out by their own military, which itself has been forced by the alien threat to withdraw, while a secretive special forces unit struggles in vain to cover up their failures.

À l'annonce du diagnostic de Manjiro, qui se retrouve dans un état végétatif, Shinichiro abandonne tout, carrière, vie sociale et familiale pour se consacrer à Manjiro. Il reprend les études pour devenir soignant et donne bonne sommes d'argent à des organisme religieux sectaire, pour rester auprès de son frère et l'aider à revenir parmi les siens.4 années sont passées et pourtant, aucun changement concernant Manjiro, c'est en effet le contraire, son état s'aggrave. Mais tout change quand un jeune garçon brun aux yeux bleus, entre dans la chambre de ce dernier, à la quête d'un nouvel ami.
Manjiro va-t-il sortir de son état végétatif ou bien va-t-il y laisser sa peau?
