Micheal Douglas professes his love for wife Catherine Zeta Jones in Golden Globes acceptance speech

The father-of-three picked up a gong for his portrayal of Liberace in Behind the Candelabra

Hollywood heavyweight Micheal Douglas thanked his wife Catherine Zeta Jones as he made a passionate Golden Globes acceptance speech.


The 69-year-old scooped the Best Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture gong on Sunday for his role in Behind the Candelabra, and thanked his estranged wife - in a strong sign that the pair could be back together,.

The couple split in August but are believed to have recently reconciled and while Catherine, 44, did not accompany Michael to the ceremony in LA, he made sure to pay tribute to her in his speech.

He gave wife Catherine, their children Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10 and jailed son Cameron, 35, his love in the speech - as well as thanking his co-star Matt Damon.

Douglas is believed to have recently reunited with after they temporarily separated last year.

The actor told EOnline.com: "She's back east with the kids."


But Michael insisted that all is well between him and the 43-year-old Welsh beauty. He said: "All is good. All is good."

The couple recently spent Christmas at their home in Bedford, New York together before they jetted off on a skiing holiday to Quebec, Canada.

Michael insisted in October that the couple were still working on their marriage and he remained hopeful they would work things out after they confirmed they were taking a temporary "break" from their 13-year marriage in August.

He said at the time: "Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end. I'm very hopeful."
