FITNESS FAN: Zoe Novota shared two photos taken seconds apart

Fitness blogger Zoe Novota shared two photos taken just 30 seconds apart to prove that what you see on Instagram isn’t always reality.

Demonstrating how gym gear can alter how your figure looks, the youngster wanted to show the effect of her “flattering tummy control” high-rise leggings on her stomach.

She said: “It's easy to look at pictures of other women on Instagram or really anywhere else and compare yourself to them.

“But I wanted to post this picture for a little perspective.

“These pictures were taken seconds apart. A lot of pictures on Instagram, including a lot of my own are posed, in good lighting, getting the best angle.

“It's still me, but I don't walk around in the best light, at the best angle, posing and flexing every second (although that would be fantastic).”

Zoe admitted that she sticks to a gruelling fitness regime at least 75% of the time, which includes working out every day and eating healthily.

But a “healthy” body doesn’t always look the same.

She continued: “So take a good look at the picture on the right, that's me relaxed without the flattering tummy control of my high-rise leggings.

“She is also still 100% beautiful and strong.

“Next time you catch yourself unposed, in bad lighting, etc. don't be hard on yourself because your body is still so amazing and does so many amazing things for you if you let it.

“And when you see posed pictures know that the people in them are perfectly imperfect too.”

Zoe isn’t the first workout queen to get real about body image issues on social media.

Fitness blogger Sophie Gray, who goes by @wayofgray on Instagram, wanted to show followers she doesn’t really live a “perfect” life.

She has vowed never to post a bikini photo again as she takes a move away from her fitspiration reputation.

Ditching her sexy snaps in favour of make-up free selfies proudly flaunting her “imperfections”, the 22-year-old wants to spread a body positive message to her followers.

Sophie has swapped her stylised shots for raw and honest photos, but not everyone is on board with Sophie’s change of tack.

Her Instagram following plunged from 430,000 to 367,000 as a result – but it has since bounced back to 409,000.
