Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Emergency WASH Officer to be based Oromia Program Area West Guji, Melka Soda.
The work of Emergency WASH Officer is directly linked with Plan’s mission in Ethiopia. His/her main role is to assist in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH interventions in emergency and recovery context. He/she will proactively engage in increasing the usage of safe drinking water sources through supporting the construction and rehabilitation of water-schemes within communities and schools, establishment of community water-committees to ensure community participation and sustainable ownership, improving standard and access of sanitation facilities within communities and schools, through building the capacity of Woreda staff through the construction of latrines and community training; with the overall objective of protecting, promoting and enhancing livelihoods of children and their families recovering from disasters and to ensure that children and their families affected live in a more disaster resilient environment. The officer work closely with community members and local government and to implement the project according to the agreed activities and action plan and address the priority problems of the poorest and marginalized community members.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor of Degree in Sanitary, Hydraulics Engineering and related fields from recognized university with at least 4 years relevant experience in Water supply and sanitation development and Hygiene out of which a minimum of 2 years’ experience in emergency WASH response project in an NGO.

Knowledge of the water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions

Excellent interpersonal skill, including the ability to build relationship with colleagues.
