If you’re a manufacturer of laser lights you should continue reading, there’s some potential business ahead from the German Special Forces KSK.

Your laser module should weigh no more than 180 grams, include two light sources (I guess that’s visible and non-visible IR) with switches and hardware to mount it to “a rifle”.

If you’re OK so far, you should be able to supply some 1,745 laser modules during 2019.

The “rifles” in this case are the Heckler & Koch HK416 A7s, or G95, as they are called by the German Army.

The estimated contract is worth around 5 million €uros, excluding VAT.

Simple math for your budget, that’s about €2 900 per module. On the other hand, that’s what the buyer is hoping for. Perhaps a good sales team can convince them to spend a bit more for the right technical solution?

According to Hartpunkt.de the total price of the firearms with accessories, including VAT, is headed towards 20 million €uros.

Which laser modules do think have the potential to qualify?

Their snipers are getting the Wilcox Raptar-S, but that seems a bit of an overkill for the HK416 A7s.
