Disney Parks revealed the title of their Star Wars land will be Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and it will include a Millennium Falcon attraction. Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise has been massively popular since George Lucas' Episode IV - A New Hope debuted in theaters in 1977. For some time, Star Wars only consisted of the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy - with the latter receiving a bad reputation among fans - but when Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, it was with the reveal that they had plans to revive the immensely beloved brand.
Since then, Disney and Lucasfilm have revived the Skywalker Saga with Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which will be followed by Episode VIII - The Last Jedi later this year, as well as the first anthology movie in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, another aspect of Lucasfilm being acquired by Disney is the arrival of a Star Wars-themed land at certain Disney Parks locations. Now, thanks to a reveal during Disney's D23 Expo, we know the official name of their Star Wars land.

During the Disney Parks presentation at D23 this weekend, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek revealed that the land will be called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - and will arrive at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California in 2019. According Chapek, Galaxy's Edge will include a Millennium Falcon attraction, based on Han Solo's famous vehicle, and one that takes guests inside a Star Destroyer. For the Star Destroyer attraction, it will put guests in the middle of a hangar bay in which the vehicle will be parked, during a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. As for the Millennium Falcon attraction, guests will get to fly the beloved Star Wars vehicle in a mission - and the guests' decisions will impact whether the mission is a success or failure. Chapek also announced some of the Star Wars characters guests will get to meet, including BB-8, Chewbacca, Rex and Kylo Ren.
Chapek didn't unveil any further details about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with there likely to be even more announcements in the months to come, but it's certainly enough to whet the appetite of Star Wars fans around the globe. So far, Disney's revival of the Star Wars brand has largely been met with excitement, even despite certain hiccups in productions like the recent departure of the Han Solo anthology movie's original directors. Still, Star Wars: Episode VII and Rogue One have been hits, and it's likely The Last Jedi will be as well.
So, with Disney offering Star Wars fans the chance to sit in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and pilot a vehicle beloved to not only Han Solo but the franchise's devotees, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will undoubtedly be a popular vacation destination come 2019 and beyond.
