Watch Next

Tetris is coming to Facebook's Messenger today via the Instant Games platform, allowing you to play the classic puzzle game and challenge friends to battle for the highest score.

Tetris was first developed in 1984 and has since become one of the most popular video games of all time, with dozens of releases across almost every platform imaginable, even calculators and Twitter. Now Tetris can even be played through Messenger with some added social elements.

Aside from the personal satisfaction of beating Tetris or getting a high score in marathon mode, Tetris on Messenger allows you to see how you rank against friends and players around the world, with daily challenges to keep things interesting. Happy block placing.
