That's what you call a squirrel style welcome.

Brockport police got a warm welcome from an overexcited squirrel, seen in the center, that was trapped in a resident's kitchen.

Brockport police officers responded to a call Friday about a squirrel that had broken into a house and was reportedly eating cookies in the kitchen, according to a Brockport Police Department Facebook post.

At least one officer was wearing a body camera at the time. The resulting video shows the officer walking into the kitchen and a squirrel zooming around the walls and counters, crashing into a few dishes along the way. The squirrel eventually lunged at the officer as it headed through a doorway, causing everyone in the room to burst into laughter.

The pint-sized intruder was eventually caught and released by police without injury.
