hey guys I have been trying to do my research about ohms law and battery safety and I recently got the Athena sqounk mod and I am just trying to find the safe range to do a build on it. I have Sony vct5a that I will be using and also will be using some 22g ni80. Right now I'm usin dual coil and it's reading at .18. Any help would be appreciated.

7/8 on a 3mm. Threw it in my dna75c and worked out the hot spots and it reads to .18. Just want to be safe and don't want to run into any issues.

If you use steam engine it will tell you how many amps your coils will draw and is a must use tool for anyone using mechs imho

I used to build coils with 7/8 wraps but found (and was advised) to drop them down to 5 or 6. Might be worth a shot.

I prefer to keep my build on mechs above 0.2 ohms, using the wire you have and dropping to 5/6 wraps is going to drop the resistance even more, my advice would be to get some 24 gauge Ni80 flatwire and try 5/6 wraps on a 3mm bit, as a dual build that should get you to around 0.25.

Your build at the moment is pulling 23.3 amps, under the 25 amp rating of the VTC5a but not by much, your choice how close to the wind you sail.

When I drop them down to 6 wraps it reads out to .14 I am afraid that could possibly too low? I honestly just plan on sticking to the same build every time as long as I am in the safe zone.

As of right now all I have is 22g n80. I can pick up some 24g but no where carries flat wire around me. Would 24g n80 round wire be fine?

It is too low if you want to vape on the safe side of the battery limit.

What are you trying to get power-wise? ... what are you trying to achieve with your build? ... with a mech you don't just want to be throwing coils in and hoping for the best.
