hey guys, about 5 months ago, I got a smok vapepen 2.2 and all was fine, but about a month ago or so I started having problems. with 90% of my draws it burns my throat like crazy. I'm no novice, been vaping since 2012. I prime my coil but it still burns. The juice I've been using is Custard Shoppe brand which is a 75VG/25PG ratio and 6MG niccotine. when this first started happening I thought maybe it was the coil as the burning started after the first 5 draws, so replaced the coil and still had the same problem. this keeps happenening daily... any thoughts on what could be the matter? I also sent an email to the company, and they have yet to respond back.

Um, is this your first time using that juice in that tank? It might be an unfortunate pairing, I guess.... if it's a new juice, something in it just might not agree with you.

I'd also suggest, if really nothing's changed maybe a visit to the doc is in order? It's possible you might have a throat infection, if really nothing's changed and this just happened out of the blue, maybe a little more detailed information might help?

Could be too much nic.. could try 3 mg
Could be sensitive to a flavoring.. could try unflavored.
Could be pg or vg sensitivity. Could try a different ratio.
Could be,sensitive to the coil.. try a different device/coil
Just have to do process of elimination. Rinse your throat often and drink plenty.

I can't vape BlackBerry flavoring. Rips my throat.

First things first, start puffing into your mouth instead of inhaling while you sort this out. You'll get your nic as most of it is absorbed through the mucous membranes anyway. That is what I do whenever throat irritation happens.

The next step IMO is to isolate the problem. Try dropping your power/temp level a great deal, then slowly bring it up to see if too much power is the cause. TJVapes suggestions are all worth trying. Good luck!

I would see a doctor honestly. Is this your only setup? I suppose something could be going on with it that's causing problems but to me, honestly, I'd start with a doctor.

Cigarettes are going to burn your throat LESS than e-cigs, they have humectants that will slide right down your throat. Either you are vaping AND smoking too much, and/or something is going on medically, PLEASE go get checked out. We have no way of knowing what's going on really all we can do is speculate.

While i myself have experienced a couple of "burnt throat" it was never that bad and 9/10 times caused by me either burning my wicks on my rba or something along those lines or sometimes it seems i vape too high wattage for some juices which turn them in burning vapor too imo.

Like others have said though, yours seem a bit more like a medical issue rather than a vaping one specially if you've been using the same setup for awhile.Otherwise i'd go by elimination like @TJVapes mentionned.

As others have said, see a doc, sooner rather than later. Problem is there, and I doubt caused by vaping, it aggravates it.

Not trying to be harsh, but I would have gotten the bullet and stopped, visited a doctor or nurse instead of heading here. Best of luck & let us know how it turns out.
