Cabinet appoints seven secretaries general to office

Seven secretaries general, who won a contest for filling the high-level leadership positions, were appointed to office at a today’s cabinet meeting.   

 

These are as follows:

Costin Iulia – Economics and Infrastructure Ministry;  

Munteanu Anatolie – Justice Ministry;

Capatina Mihail – Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry;

Burduja Radu - Defence Ministry;

Gilca Boris – Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry;

Sarov Igor – Education, Culture and Research Ministry;

Usurelu Iurie – Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry;

 

Prime Minister Pavel Filip congratulated the new state secretaries general, wishing them success in their work. At the same time, the PM said that this exercise was an important stage in the implementation of the government’s reform, which will lead to the depoliticizing of institutions.  

 

“The secretaries general are civil servants and are to carry the institutional memory of the ministry in continuation. The secretaries have nothing to do but focus directly on the work of ministries, in order to ensure the implementation of the governance programme and the national action plan for the carrying out of the Association Agreement,” Pavel Filip stressed.  

 

Also, the prime minister noted that the term for submitting the files for the positions of state secretary general at the Interior Ministry and the Finance Ministry had been extended and a contest for the offices of state secretary at the ministry was presently underway.
