20 excellent quality miniatures, you assemble them yourself in a great variety of poses. The scale is slightly smaller than your typical warhammer mini but they are 1/3 the price. I will enjoy assembling and painting them for my D&D needs. I am very pleased with the company selling them (GCmini) on Amazon. They were shipped quickly and at a reasonable price. North Star minis are from a UK manufacturer, so getting them from a US distributor was a bonus.
It is 20 figures that, using GS cement, are easy to assemble and look great--about 2 bucks each. Because I can pick weapons, heads, and some extras to add I create figures with more drama than I usually get from metal or "bones" figures. Again, CA is not the way to go, use GS cement. I combined this with the Cultist set for a few more options. So yes this is not inexpensive but I built all the archers, crossbow, explorers, and thugs I need to play Frostgrave.
Painted with white primer instead of Army Paints. I use Army Paints for the hand painting. Bases are painted black with flat black and will be "flocked" with snow later. I like the look of the black hidden under the "snow."
These are a good medium-quality miniature that you can use for any tabletop game. Lots of options for heads, weapons, and accessories, so you'll have leftovers for kitbash projects too.
The plastic is slightly softer than I’m used to working with, but that made mold line removal very easy. There is slight concern with weapons warping, but so far, they’re fine and there’s not much else to complain about. For certain poses, I had to cut away at the torsos to get the arms in more dynamic positions, but the gaps were easy enough to fill in with putty.
