Hiring Organization Background
The Hidota Cooperative Union was established in July 2016 and is headquartered in Zefine, Boreda, GamoGofa Zone, SNNPR. The Union’s operational area covers Boreda, Kucha, and Zala Woredas. The primary objective of Hidota is to support grain-marketing primary cooperatives in those woredas. This job positing is for the Union General Manager who will report to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for hiring all upper management staff for the Union.
Position Summary
The Hidota Grain Producers Multipurpose Cooperative Union General Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the Union’s long term strategy. The Manager’s leadership role also entails being ultimately responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and for implementing the Union’s long and short term plans. The Manager acts as a direct liaison between the Board of Directors and management of the Union and communicates to the Board on behalf of management. The GM is the sole person responsible for finding buyers for the Union’s grain and generating profit for the Union.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and develop new markets for maize, haricot beans, and other suitable agricultural products with the express purpose to make Hidota Union financially sustainable and grow the Union’s market position in SNNPR. Align aspirations and business plan for Hidota Union with the Primary Cooperatives in surrounding Woredas.
