The Weeknd and Selena Gomez are officially over, a source close to the R&B crooner confirms to Page Six.
The duo had been dating for about 10 months, but Gomez was secondary to his career, according to a source.
“Everyone wants love, but his focus is the business,” a source said. “He’s building a legacy. He’s young and successful with money and can have any girl he wants. Their relationship kind of came out of nowhere.”
The Weeknd and model Bella Hadid split last year after about a year-and-a-half.
Another source added, “He’s a supreme player. He hits the scene hard. [Selena’s] more subtle with it.”
Page Six reported last week that there’s been tension between Toronto talents The Weeknd and Drake after the latter reportedly “hooked up with Hadid.”
Meanwhile, Gomez has since been spotted with her ex Justin Bieber, who abruptly canceled his tour to focus on his well-being in August. But a source says, “He’s been very quiet and not hitting the scene as much. His life is really all about calm at the moment.”
Reps for the singers did not comment.
