Julian Assange, Wikileaks founder has offered a reward for Daphne Caruana Galizia's murderers to be caught

Julian Assange has expressed outrage at the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia as news of the savage attack made the rounds internationally.

The man behind Wikileaks, an international non-profit organisation that publishes secret information, news leaks, and classified media provided by anonymous sources, expressed his thoughts in a tweet.

Outraged to hear that Maltese investigative journalist+blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia has been murdered this afternoon not far from her home with a car bomb. I issue a €20k reward for information leading to the conviction of her killers. Her blog: https://t.co/XQCEXBKYn3 pic.twitter.com/ITHlBRzr0J

He also issued a €20,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to a conviction of Caruana Galizia's murderers.

Concern was also expressed by Italian anti-mafia campaigner and author Roberto Saviano, who described the events in Malta as "dramatic". Saviano placed the murder in the context of what he described as Malta being a centre of money laundering alongside London and Gibraltar.
