Why is everyone launching products without Bluetooth 5.0 but priced like a Pro?

Hmm, I bought a pair of freedoms and really liked them but lost them at the airport. Was thinking of getting replacements but these will be more expensive albeit twice the battery life. Tough choice.

I have a pair of Freedom F5s and AirPods. The Freedoms sound a ton better than my AirPods -- could be because Jaybirds app has an equalizer so you can customize the sound to the type of music you are listening to. I've never had any connectivity issues with the Freedoms -- or battery issues for that matter. I'm on my 3rd pair of AirPods, all replaced under warranty. The W1 chip is a bit overrated IMHO. The only reason I wear my AirPods over my Freedoms is the AirPods are superior for phone calls outside. They block out more ambient noise than the Freedoms.

For me, it’s all about the W1. I own a pair of the original Jaybird sport wireless (still work), went thru a pair of Beats Solo Wireless, a few cars, a JBL Charge 2... long story short: AirPods are the best Bluetooth experience I’ve encountered. There are still hiccups from time to time, but that’s always going to be Bluetooth.

I had some jaybirds a while back and they were terrible. Before amazon cleaned up reviews you could see the company was gaming them using other sites.

The product wasn't only unreliable, the support was abysmal. I would never contemplate giving them another cent and urge folks to look elsewhere.

I switch between my iPhone and iPad all day, wouldn’t use headphones without the W1, it just works too well

The sound quality isn’t THAT much better. Plus, the X2’s that I had would lose connection and cut in and out so easily it was maddening. It also didn’t matter which set of tips I used or how I wore them, they were never as comfortable in my ears as the AirPods which is beyond comprehension. No W1 either.

Theres no contest the sound quality between the freedoms and the AirPods. Especially with comply memory foam tips(not the ones that come with them).
I've had the bluebud x, x1's x2's and now the freedoms. These fully wireless ones look interesting if they can give the same sound as the freedoms I'm sold.

These look pretty cool. I have a pair of freedoms that I really like. The sound is great. Recently bought a pair of airpods and I just love them. They definitely do not sound as good as the Freedoms, but the convenience is hard to beat. I may have to give these a try if the reviews are good.

I'm also very tempted. Jabra's own true wireless is just far too expensive and reviews of the rubber buttons stated their overly stiff - don't want to destroy my ear drums from physical pressure.

slightly pricier - $20-40 depending on exchange rate. 1 hour less - BUT 5mins charge in case gives you 1hour playback: 20mins fully charged for 4hrs. Not bad. Still why only 4hrs when Airpods have 5hrs!

Airpods, only in white, questionable fit for everyone - I suspect will NOT fit my tiny ears with large inner loops.

Seems with JayBird's iOS app, there is an accompanying AW app and they state sync between devices, hmmm VERY interesting! I have a Windows PC currently, wonder if it'll work there OR with OSX?

And that is fine. But your comment was that with AirPods no other wireless earbud could compete. That was the point of my response to you. AirPods are great, but so are other wireless buds for other reasons. AirPods lack in areas where others excel and vice versa. So be such an ideologue and just enjoy this era of tech competition we are in.

I like my Jaybirds X2. Very comfortable and never had any issues except the cable likes to get stuck to my neck when working out. Would seriously consider these, but was hoping for the W1 chip to consider an upgrade.

I got some refurb Bragi Dash a few months ago and they are awesome. The bluetooth isn't great, so I have to keep the phone in my right pocket otherwise it cuts out, but excellent otherwise. Guess I'll stick with these a bit longer (don't want to shell out a few hundred bucks for the Bragi Dash Pro).

Choices & pricing are KILLING me!

For me:
Splash & Waterproofing
Microphone quality for Voice Calls
Sound Quality: Bass, Highs, Mids all equally great - looking for this in any true wireless headphones
Pairing & Swapping: Between iPhone 7/8/X and Apple Watch S2/Nike + or S3/Nike + (with or without cellular)!

Now what to do?!

I pre ordered the freedom 2’s a couple of weeks ago on amazon. Amazon page said all along shipping 9/29. A few days ago I reached out to Jaybird and asked when the freedom 2’s will launch. They said “about 3-4 weeks”. I thought that was odd since Amazon had a much earlier date.


Today... I go to the listing page on amazon and they’re no longer available for sale and the 9/29 shipping date is removed
