A Civil Air Patrol officer in Kansas has been reinstated despite making a lynching threat against a Republican state lawmaker who introduced legislation that would have restricted the right to carry concealed handguns on college campuses.
The Hays Daily News reports that Jonathan Holder, the Kansas commander of a Civil Air Patrol squadron, has been cleared to reenlist in the organization even though he said Republican Kansas state Rep. Stephanie Clayton deserved to be executed for sponsoring a gun control bill.
"This b*tch needs to swing from a tree for violating her oath," he wrote on Facebook about Clayton earlier this year.
Despite being initially removed from the Civil Air Patrol, Holder was unapologetic about his threat.
"I stand by what I said and frankly don’t care who doesn’t like it," he said, as reported by Hays Daily News. "So, go ahead and report me, deport me, unfriend me, block me."
Col. Linette Lahan, commander of the Kansas Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, said that while Holder can reenlist with the organization, he has chosen not to do so at this time.
